The 93rd Academy Awards Nominees & Winners

A Round of Oscars

The Oscars, Ho!Ho!Ho! is a colossal relief for all the cinephiles and entertainment dwellers. Being the most prestigious award in the entertainment industry, it is now coming to its 93rd edition and through the pandemic we are here. We consider Oscar as one of the biggest events on the planet. It is a pride for a person to win one, said by many nominees and it is for sure a prestigious award considering its history and all the hard times the industry went through, the cries and screams of joy, awkward moments and historic speeches been said and shared through the event.

This year's edition of the event is directed by Oscar-winning director Steven Sodenberg along with Emmy nominated producer Jesse Collins and Oscar-nominated producer Stacey Sher and will broadcast across the Globe. From controversies to the greatest moments in entertainment history, Oscars has now evolved into something new in terms of meaning to the people and the Academy. Let's dive deep into the world we were talking about.

Academic Award 2021What Is?The academy awards popularly known as the Oscars is an award not just any but the most exclusive one given in terms of arts and technical related to the cinema industry, mostly Hollywood. This is where the brightest stars from Hollywood come to celebrate their works. An award given to art and the artists behind the magnificent Cinema is what Oscars or the Academy Awards are. The appreciation for new and indie films is being spread now through these events too. Like last year, Parasite Bagging the Oscars and the entire event in its hand was an enormous change in the event as a foreign Film got the Award for Best Picture.

Artist Like A. R. Rahman and Rasool Pookutty brought these prestigious awards back to India, and a lot of movies are now being recognised and brought up to the world through these selection processes and campaigns that are held before and for the event.

Academy Award in 1927
Old ERA

Birth and Growth. They found the academy in 1927 and was preparing itself through the years for something huge that was going to change the world. And in 1929 they held the first evert academy awards on May 16th with about 270 guests at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. 15 statues (awards) were given that night which was made of gold-plated platinum. There were no TV/Radio broadcasts back then, but now it has changed to a massive network of 225 countries and territories along with U.S.A. From then on, the event went through enormous changes and events and speeches along with controversies too. It's not just about the awards, it's also about the way it's presented to the world with its hosts, speeches and mini events within the event.

Prominent studio Executive and the head of MGM Louis. B. Mayer founded the academy of Motion pictures and Science for the power he could hold among the industry. Well, now it’s changed into something more than that.

In 1953, the first TV broadcast was aired.
When the Oscars became one of the premium events on the planet by 1942, they started premiering the event in the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. At times of the war, the materials involved in making the award or the statue were used for army troops and as raw materials for the war, and the statues were made of plaster which then change back after the war.

About three months earlier prior to the event winners were announced until the second edition from which the names of the winners were given to the media by 11:00 pm the event night. This method was used until 1940 and from then on sealed envelopes were used for the announcement at event nights. The award was not the way we see it right now. It has changed a lot from its inception. They gave the first academy to Emil Jannings for his performance in the way of all flesh and the last Command. The Academy agreed to his Award earlier, as he had to return to his home country Europe.

At that time Awards were given to winners not for just one work but for two of three from two years of the calendar and this changed to what it is nowadays after the Fourth edition. Slowly categories were added and the presentation style and the set designs were even evolved. Every year artists are celebrating the event in the most exclusive and harmonious way. What all changes came but what does not change is the pride holding an Oscar Award (the Oscar statuette) and the meaning behind its design. Let’s get deep into that now.

Behind the Oscar Statue
Design of The OSCAR Statuette
Academy Award (the Oscar statuette and the design)The statue was designed by Cedric Gibbons, a Sculpted by George Stately. It's the icon symbol that represents the Oscars. it is made of gold-plated platinum on a black metal base, it is 13.5 in (34.3 cm) tall, weighs 8.5 lb (3.856 kg). It was conceived by the meaning that, A Knight holding a crusader's sword downwards and standing on top of a film can with five spokes on it showing the five foundations of cinema: Actor, Director, Producer, Technician, Writer.

To prevent winners from leaking ahead of the ceremony, Oscar statues presented at the ceremony have blank plates. From start until 2010, winners returned their statues to the Academy and had to wait several weeks for their names inscribed on their Oscars. But since 2010, winners are having their names engraved to the statuettes at a station at the Governor's Ball, a party held immediately after the Oscar ceremony for the winners and nominees along with other.

Now its is more of a celebration of comedies, acts, songs, and the so-called award ceremonies as it was just an event that happened in a guest space at first.

From all the changes that occurred additions were given to the catogories and after the filteration process these are all the catogories that are there.

The winners and nominees of 93rd Academy Awards or the 2021 Oscars.
-This year's Oscars was a tremendous shift and also satisfaction, all thanks to Covid-19. Despite all the hardships that we went through, we were all waiting for this day to know if our favourite actors and technicians would bag the Oscars. It was a year filled with a lot of good movies, even though the pandemic was getting us hard on our knees. Performance of the Late. Chadwick Boseman in Ma Rainey black Bottom and Spike Lee's Da 5 Blood were performances worth appreciation. This is not only because im pointing this out but also to the way he built up his career in this industry where we cannot take out the fact that their is still racism. The Oscars came to be a place where artist protested through art, an event from which people got strict thoughts on what our society is at present and what we should do in the industry for its future. Well, coming back to this year's celebrations, outstanding actors and artists are getting appreciation for the excellent works in movies like Nomadland The Father, Pixar's Soul, Sound of Metal, etc.. Now let's take a look at this year's winners and Nominees.
